It is a proud privilege and honor to invite all to the Golden Jubilee Skill course of AMASI to be held in the capital city of the country, New Delhi. As you all will be aware that under the dynamic leadership of Dr C Palanivelu founder president of AMASI the first skill course was held in GEM Hospital, Coimbatore in May 2006 and since then AMASI has organized 48 more courses in different parts of the country to reach this magic figure of 50 skill courses which also included three courses abroad. During their endevour AMASI has imparted minimal access surgery knowledge and substantially improved upon the technical skills of many surgeons around the country.
The three-day Golden Jubilee course will be held in the Auditorium of PGIMER, Dr RML Hospital, New Delhi from 22 nd till 24 th September 2017. The skill course is an Academic and Accreditation activity of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, the Largest Specialist Association of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). The aim of this skill course is to standardize laparoscopic surgical techniques, and to update the knowledge, keeping up with the current trends. During the course of 3 days, we will try to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills in basic to advance laparoscopic surgery. There will be extensive didactic Lectures covering from Basic to Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures. Our vision is that every surgeon or Gyanecologist in India should be trained adequately in the art and science of Minimal Access Surgery and every citizen should have access to minimal access surgery.
A written examination and viva voce will be conducted on the last day of the skill course. Successful candidates will be awarded Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) during the Next National AMASI Conference to be held at Cochin in October this year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for award of Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS)
- MCI recognised MS/DNB/M.Ch Degree
- Candidate should be an AMASI member or can apply with new membership application and fee
- Candidate should have been performing basic laparoscopic procedures individually ( for at least 2 years) after passing the qualifying examination.
- Participation in a workshop organized by aegis of AMASI
- Completion of skill course
- Successful test score in Fellowship Exam.
